With over 20 years of EFI tuning experience, Ben Davidow started out by working with very talented West Coast racers such as Todd Chiamparino and Norman Chang. Over the years, Ben helped his customers to win multiple championships and set many class records on the West Coast, and achieved great success with his own shop car.
Ben started working with John Meaney, Joe Meaney, and the rest of the BigStuff3 team, a company that helped start a revolution in aftermarket fuel injection in the United States, in 2018. Ben helped take part in the design, testing, engineering, and technical support for the new BisgStuff Gen4 Pro Xtreme hardware. Working directly with dealers and customers, direct feedback was incorporated to improve BigStuff’s products so as to continue to innovate in the aftermarket fuel injection industry.
In 2022, Ben purchased the BigStuff company from the Meaney family and has set forth on a mission to honor the heritage of the company while also growing its legacy with a new generation of advanced EFI powertrain management systems sold and supported throughout the racing community.
When updating my car from a Gen3 to the latest EFI system, I spoke with Ben about the Holley Dominator or the Gen4. In the end it was the wireless connectivity that Gen4 had that sealed the deal.
Ben was great when asking questions how to wire up sensors, when things didn’t work, firmware upgrades etc. He was able to remote in and help get the car running when I switched from C16 to Methanol. I flew Ben out when the car was getting dyno’d to have him help and make sure I wasn’t over looking things. Ben is a very knowledgeable person, and I am glad to be able to call him when I have a question or need tuning help.
Rob Morell 1974 Chevy CamaroI was fortunate enough to get connected with Ben Davidow a few years ago thanks to the help of Norman Chang. I was blown away with the help I received from Ben. I sent him a text for starters and he responded almost instantly with some questions. On the 2nd text he sent me he had solved why my new engine combination was struggling. I learned two things instantly: 1. Ben was very easy going and easy talk to. 2. Ben explained what he was doing, why, and what it meant. He's a wealth of knowledge and has provided great support answering questions when needed and giving advice that has saved headaches and hardware failure. To have someone with Ben's skills also be responsive, patient and easy to talk to make him a very good person to make part of your program.
David Loney 1967 Chevy NovaI've been using Ben at BHP for over 6 years now. With the knowledge and skill that he has brought to my heads-up race program, we have countless wins and runners up, and we also brought home a championship. We started with BigStuff3 gen 3 and switched over to the new gen 4 system. (Which is an awesome system, by the way!) On two separate occasions, we showed up with a brand new, untested set up: new transmission, converter, and turbo. Within 3 runs, we were #2 qualifier and went to the final. Ben is a wizard behind the keyboard! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I've learned a whole new way to tune thanks to Ben. You will not be disappointed.
Anthony "Big Worm" Smith 1993 Ford MustangWe were building a new car, going from a N/A car to a blown setup, so this was very new to us. The new car is a 2005 Mustang with a 440 ci SBF and a ProCharger providing boost. We talked to John Meaney about a system to run the injection and ignition he said the BigStuff3 Gen4 is the one to use and that’s how we found Ben. On start up, we got him to come to the house as Covid shut down all the tracks he was very knowledgeable about the system and was ably to get the car running great. The car has only been out a couple times and with bad shocks in the rear and only pushing 30 lbs we ran a 4.51 at 160 mph. We are very happy with his work and with the car.
Geoff Cobbett 2005 Ford MustangThe sport of drag racing can be an awesome high or the most frustrating thing in the world. Having Ben’s help the last two years has made the challenge much easier. He brings a high level expertise to our program which allows us to be very competitive in a class that demands the very best performance. His knowledge with EFI tuning strategy is among the best in the business and he is always willing to help out. I can say without hesitation that our two national event wins this year were due in large part to a very consistent race car, with Ben’s solid input all along the way.
